On getting fierce competition from its rivals Google’s Allo and WeChat, recently, WhatsApp has added a new game-changing feature and we can say that has played a masterstroke to kick out the throat-cutting rivalry. Video calling feature has now been added to WhatsApp across all mobile platforms including iOS, Android and Windows. Seemingly, Android Application Development along with iOS and Windows, will grow further in the coming future.
This new feature can be accessed simultaneously by all its 1 billion users worldwide. Android version 4.1 and higher would be compatible with this update. Users just need to upgrade their app and they are all set to go. Along with this huge advancement and feature addition, users now will also be able to access other apps alongside while on video call by minimising the video call screen and can later return back simply by tapping on the green band that will always appear on the screen.
From now onwards, WhatsApp will give you two options in place of one, whenever you will need to make a call using the said app. The options would be voice call and video call and of course, the choice to be made is always yours. During the call, you also have the facility to switch between the forward-facing camera and the rear camera. You can mute the call if needed and can hang up by pressing the red button on the screen.
Note : Both the parties should have the upgraded app version to make use of the new feature.

This splendid move from the Facebook-Owned App can definitely prove to be a differentiator in the intense competition among the various mobile messenger apps existing across the World. WhatsApp for a long time had been looking to stand out among the other popular messengers across the world like WeChat, Allo and Hike etc., which in the recent past were gaining as much popularity as the WhatsApp itself. This also indicates that Android App Development Services along with other mobile platforms, are growing stronger with every passing day as we are witnessing new innovations and developments more often than ever.
