Live Video Streaming Feature Launched on Instagram

The  Facebook-owned App Instagram has now come up with Live Video Streaming Feature for its users via Instagram Stories which already has more than 100 million daily active users since its inception about three months ago. This latest development has rolled out yesterday only with availability possible worldwide within next few weeks. The uniqueness of this newly revealed feature as compared to Facebook Live Chat and Twitter’s Periscope lies in the fact that live video streaming once over in real-time will also disappear from Instagram and people will not be able to watch it later on Instagram and thus providing more comfort and ease to its users in terms of posting more personal and sensitive stuff. INSTAGRAM DIRECT ALSO BEEN UPGRADED

Instagram Direct, the App’s messaging service has also been upgraded with new features which primarily include sending ephemeral videos and photos on chat. These media files will disappear after 24 hours of its posting time giving users more freedom in terms of expressing themselves in a more custom manner. From now onwards, you will have two inboxes in Instagram Direct. The first one will be a Permanent Inbox which will permanently store the messages sent to you by any of your friends or relatives on Instagram. The other one will be your Temporary Inbox in which you will only receive those messages which will automatically be deleted after 24 hours from your inbox.

Even, you will be given the option to draft a temporary message or a permanent message to send to any of your friends on Instagram Direct to facilitate your comfort and ease.

• Finding Live streams happening on Instagram has been made quite easier with adding a new live video section in the “Explore” Tab.

HOW TO GO LIVE ON INSTAGRAM

You need to swipe right in your feed and then the Camera will open automatically and an option of “Start Live Video” will appear on the screen. You need to tap on this option to go live.

Viewers can like or comment on your stream. Likes show up as ‘hearts’ and ‘small bubbles’ start to rise over the screen with streamer’s profile picture when somebody taps on the “like” button.
