They are trying to achieve the way humans think and remember. It is a computing that aims at understanding at a higher level. The Cognitive Computing is capable to deal with the symbolic and conceptual information. The Cognitive System analyze a large amount of data with its advanced tools.

Why is AI and Cognitive Computing created?

These two are created with only one aim which is to reduce the human efforts. time and manpower in every possible field. Whereas, Cognitive Computing is used in areas like the behavioral recommendation, sentiment analysis, and risk assessment. AI is something different from the Cognitive Computing. AI does not try to copy human thought processes. 

However, AI and cognitive computing are similar in some way, but have different approaches. These both are improving day by day with the increase in technology demand.
