Neat Video plugin for Virtualdub

Neat video is a plugin to filter the content of digital videos. For eg:- In the following videos, Neat Video 

reduces the noise and preserves the fundamental features of the video.

The prime functionality of neat video is to reduce noise from the content of digital videos. It does not 

work well with pixelated video or distorted  video.It can work with videos that are recorded from 

various devices like video cameras, camcorders, computer TV-tuners, film digitizers, etc

Out of which Virtualdub is an open source software. Basically, Virtualdub is a software that have 

many third- party filters available on web. There are certains limitations in Virtualdub as well,such as:

- It does not support all video file formats for eg: it doesnot support mp4 format.

  Initially, vitualdub supported only AVI files, but now it is feasible with BMP and MPEG-1 files also.

- The another limitation is, it generates file only in AVI format.

Neat video works well with Virtualdub software to reduce the noise from digital videos. As Virtualdub 

support only a few file format, so to run a video in Virtualdub the video should be converted to the 

supported file format.While importing a video of a supported format we may come across a severe issue 

that is of missing or unsupported codecs.

The solution for this issue is, install the missing codec or a pack of codecs that contains several codecs 

to the player.

The another solution is to use a video converter for eg:- Wondershare video converter. It works well as 

the videos are converted to other format without loss of quality in the process but the size of the file is 

increased while converting. So, the benefit of using file converter is that,if we get codec error while 

importing the video, we can convert the file to the supported format and the file will have the codecs 

of that format and after that it can be easily imported to the Virtualdub.

After the file is imported to the Virtualdub,we can filter the noisy video via Neat Video plugin. The Neat 

Video plugin performs various functions:

- Noise reduction by increasing or decreasing luminance and chrominance

- Smart sharpening 

In Filtering it have various options like:

- Filter and sharpen

- No filteration

- Remove all noise 

- Remove only half of noise
