As we all are dealing with different software and love to assure that the quality of the software we are working on works as better as possible and never ever any person on the client side gives us any negative feedback for the quality.

But, here as a Quality Assurance personality, we all should know when we should stop testing and exit criteria for that.

Execution Criteria may be defined as test metrics where tester can represent his/her report for the testware in front of stakeholders

Pictorial representation might clear it:

Before marking a test process to be completed one must cover all these STLC steps

Steps for Software Testing Life Cycle are as follows:

1. Test planning should be completed

2. Test cases should be written

3. Traceability Matrix implementation

4. Test cases execution

5. Test execution report submitted

When all these steps are covered, one should compare the requirements with respect to the execution report, and evaluates whether the product is ready for successful deployment or delivery to client, one can measure the following points

Test Completion Criteria or Exit Criteria

1. Verify, no critical or major bugs remaining unresolved

2. Verify, all tests plans are covered

3. Verify all high risks areas are well tested

4. All development activities are completed within initial projected cost

5. All activities completed in projected timeline

Thanks, Hope all doubts are cleared about exit criterias.
