It can be seen for the first time that users are much more excited for a Remote. Though, new Apple TV is the most awaited Apple’s fourth generation with over the top features. Still, the new “black colored” device matching set-top-box i.e. new Siri Remote is an add-on on the Old Apple TV.

Let the TV perform actions, as your command.. literally using Voice Commands! Search using Button clicks is becoming thing of past… command using Apple TV remote and it will search accordingly. New Apple TV remote incorporates Siri so that you can bypass button pressing to search your viewable. Try pressing the Siri button on the remote and ask Siri to find something for you.  If you don't feel like speak, avoid Siri and use new remote glass surface that reacts actively to the touch. You can swipe your finger around the remote to move around the screen. Though, there are buttons, but in dark you don't need to see the buttons to operate. As there is only Menu and Home button on top of the device with volume controls beside them.

Old Apple TV Remote: Was all about buttons, had a Menu and Play/Pause button with a circular up, down, left, right button above, and a Home/Select button in the centre of that. To overcome the headache of using on-screen keyboard, option was to download remote app to use on iPad or iPhone or use a Bluetooth Keyboard.

According to apple, Apple TV remote designed to feel "fluid and precise, and so natural”. When compared to other Set-top-box remote, we encounter, Apple TV remote has simpler and streamlined navigation experience.

Note:

The Apple TV remote that has Siri built-in is only available in a handful of countries: Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Spain, the UK, and the United States.

In other countries, the Apple TV ships with an Apple TV Remote that does not include built-in Siri support and thus Siri cannot be activated using the remote. Instead, the microphone button on these remotes brings up the onscreen search app.
