Google Teams Up With Coursera For A New Machine Learning Project

Time and again, Google has partnered with Coursera to launch a number of online courses for the developers and IT professionals. Coursera is an education-focused technology company based in California. The company was founded by Stanford professors Andrew Ng and Daphne Koller and it works with some big international universities and educational institutions to offer online courses and specializations in a number of subjects including engineering, computers, Digital Marketing and Artificial Intelligence.

Last year, Google teamed up with Coursera and successfully launched a Machine Learning Crash Course for the developers where they can get a basic understanding of Machine Learning and test their knowledge on the subject. Once again, Google has partnered with Coursera to launch a new Machine Learning specialization. The specialization is called, “Machine Learning With TensorFlow on Google Cloud Platform” and it will allow the students to build real-world Machine Learning models.

Setbacks of Previous Machine Learning Course

As revealed by Lak Lakshmanan, the Machine Learning Tech Lead at Google, they have got a positive feedback so far on the previous Machine Learning crash course from the students and companies alike. The students really liked the course but they expressed their wish to have a deeper understanding of the subject.

Apart from learning how to build a basic Machine Learning model, they also wished to use it in production on the cloud. The students wished to learn how to build a data pipeline for it and also to figure out tuning the parameters for better results.

The New Machine Learning Specialization

The new Machine Learning Specialization that Google is working on will have a number of applications for the machine learning models. However, it is primarily aims on building the “day-to-day models” with a focus on real-world problems. The specialization is called “Machine Learning With TensorFlow on Google Cloud Platform” and it covers everything from setting up the AI development environment to learning how to create datasets for writing distributed models in TensorFlow. The students will also learn to improve the accuracy of their developed Machine Learning models and tuning them to find the right parameters.
